PlayStation Now open beta is available to all PlayStation 4 owners in U.S. and Canada. The service kicks off as a full-blown rental service with a variety of rental time periods which are 4-hours, 7-days, 30-days or 90-days. Depending on the game some of these titles only have the option for 90-days. PS Now need at least a 5 Mbps connection to run smoothly and although it supports a wifi they recommend a wired connection. PS Now will also have several other features that we have all become use to such as cloud game saves, Trophies, friend lists and leaderboards. Also a little tidbit of new news, for all those who already experienced PS Now:
In addition, we’ve heard you loud and clear for an update on a PS Now subscription option and want to reassure you that we are working on it.
This was probably one of the most requested features from the closed beta. Personally I was confused to hear no mention of it from Sony during that time since that’s what I initially thought this service was going to be in the first place. In any case the subscription service is on its way which is good news. Check out the video below for more details. Let us know in the comments if you decide to try the rentals and how it played for you.
